Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 cup French onion soup
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the crockpot. Pour any remaining soup over the top.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until the meatloaf reaches 160°F (70°C).
- During the final 30 minutes, sprinkle Swiss cheese on top. Cover again to allow it to melt beautifully.
- Carefully remove the loaf, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- For an extra-flavorful twist, use seasoned breadcrumbs or add a splash of beef broth with the soup.
- You can line the bottom of the crockpot with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Swiss cheese can be swapped with provolone or mozzarella for a milder flavor.
