  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat and transfer the beef to the crockpot.
  2. Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the crockpot with the beef.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Stir to combine well.
  5. Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until the sauce thickens and the vegetables are tender.
  6. Give the mixture a final stir, then serve hot on hamburger buns.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or hot sauce.
