- 1 loaf of rye bread, cubed
- 1 lb corned beef, sliced
- 2 cups sauerkraut, drained
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup Thousand Island dressing
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tbsp caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the rye bread cubes on the bottom of the dish.
- Spread half of the corned beef over the bread cubes.
- Add half of the sauerkraut over the corned beef.
- Sprinkle half of the Swiss cheese on top.
- Spread half of the Thousand Island dressing over the cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Pour melted butter evenly over the top layer.
- Sprinkle with caraway seeds if using.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
