  • 12 ounces pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes (with juices)
  • 2 cups beef broth (preferably low-sodium)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add the onion and garlic; cook 2–3 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes (with juices), beef broth, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add pasta; stir to combine. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan; cook 2–3 minutes until creamy and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium broth so you can better control the final seasoning.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, splash in a bit more broth or water to loosen.
