Description

Savory, juicy, and kissed with the perfect balance of sweetness and tang, this Honey Mustard Chicken is a weeknight dream that tastes like you fussed for hours. A simple whisked-together glaze of honey, Dijon, garlic, and olive oil melts into the chicken as it bakes, creating a glossy, flavor-packed sauce that’s made for spooning over every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels, then place them in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Pour the honey mustard mixture evenly over the chicken, turning each piece to ensure it’s fully coated in the sauce.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. About halfway through baking, carefully spoon some of the pan sauce over the chicken to baste it for extra flavor and moisture.
  7. Once cooked, remove the dish from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  8. Spoon more of the honey mustard glaze from the pan over the top, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra caramelization, broil the chicken for 1–2 minutes at the end of baking, watching closely so it doesn’t burn.
  • If your chicken breasts are very thick, slice them horizontally to create cutlets for more even cooking.
  • Taste the sauce before pouring it over the chicken and adjust honey or mustard to make it sweeter or tangier to your liking.
