Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup pepper jelly, red or green
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, optional
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans, optional
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions, optional
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a mini muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray. - Prepare the crescent dough:
Unroll the crescent dough and gently press the seams together. Cut the dough into 24 small squares. - Make the cups:
Place one dough square into each mini muffin cup. Press gently into the bottom and sides so each piece forms a little cup. - Add the cream cheese:
Place about 1 teaspoon of softened cream cheese into each crescent cup. - Add the pepper jelly:
Spoon about 1/2 teaspoon of pepper jelly over the cream cheese. - Add toppings:
Sprinkle with a little shredded cheddar cheese, chopped pecans, or green onions if desired. - Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent cups are golden brown and the filling is warm and bubbly. - Cool slightly and serve:
Let them cool in the pan for 3–5 minutes, then transfer to a serving platter. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened before using. Soft cream cheese melts better and is much easier to portion into each crescent cup.
- Do not overfill the cups. Crescent dough puffs as it bakes, so a small spoonful of cream cheese and jelly is enough for each bite.
- If the dough puffs too much in the center, gently press it down with the back of a spoon after baking, then add a little extra pepper jelly on top.
- These cups taste best warm, but they are also delicious at room temperature, which makes them great for potlucks and appetizer tables.
